2014 Championship Men`s

2014 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP MEN`S WINNERS (FRANCE, RUSSIA & GERMANY)

The European Championship Men`s was hosted by the great paintball resort in Basildon during the Millennium Series Campaign Cup on 4-5 July 2014.

Around 16 National teams from all over the Europe were set to take part in two days of fierce competition. By playing the Olympic system, they were seeded into 8 groups for the qualification games.

After that, winners went to the Play-Off, and the rest teams still had ranking position games to go. Despite there were no surprises during the qualification games, the games were fair and hard, and the spectators had very good opportunity to support to their National teams, they followed by cheers at every significant game moment by congratulating the winner.

Such leading teams as Russian, Great Britain, French and German easily got to quarters, showing the fast games with great technical skills and the fair play.

Spectators expected a lot of surprises during the Play-off, but they did not receive them.

The final eight had to fight for the semi-finals in the decisive games. For the second four it was a chance to knock out the top four. Despite the strong rivals and hard games, Belgium, Austria, Poland and Norway did enough to be in the quarter-finals. But a miracle did not happen, and the final four was the same as last year: Russia, Great Britain, France and Germany.

As the European Champion since 2012, Russia was pretending to be entitled one more time, but this time French players were much stronger. The final was a tense, defensive affair, with both sides struggling from the field.

In a thrilling final of the European Championship Men 2014, France held on for a 4-2 win over Russia, while Germany claimed the bronze medal by defeated the Great Britain 3:2.

Like always, we would like to congratulate all the participants, the National Teams and all the National Federations that were involved in the organisation.

We say thank you to the SPECTATORS, because the National teams would not be so good without them.

Also we would like to thank to Millennium Series for helping with the organisation; and a special thanks should go to Eurorefs for their hard work on the field.
